Thrustmaster AVA – Is it Worth it?

Today we received news of Thrustmaster’s latest attempt to take the throne away from the biggest hitters in Flight Simulator peripherals. But is it worth it?

Looking at Thrustmaster’s AVA system, they appear to of done away with the issues of the cables running through the centre gimbal that caused so many problems with wire chaffing. I know for one I went through 4 different bases of the Warthog Stick because of wire chaffing causing connection issues. So I’ll be interested to see if they have completely solved this issue.

Looking at the internals, it appears they have taken a leaf out of the other big names in the game, such as Virpil & WinWing. With there spring and cam systems being able to be swapped out for lighter or heavier versions. But at more than £50 more than the Virpil offerings of the Warbrd-D and £77 more than the WinWing base.

All in all, this is definitely an interesting entry to the market. Whilst we await the pre-release videos from reputable reviewers to drop. Until then, we can only speculate on how much they’ve improved there quality control.
